Since the horrific attack on Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband last Friday, numerous members of Congress have expressed concerns about their safety and the safety of their families.
One way to help augment the number of Capitol Hill, FBI and Secret Service details currently providing protection to lawmakers is to request the Pentagon to quickly deploy 2,000 military personnel around the country. This way all 100 U.S. Senators and 435 House members, plus their loved ones back home, could be adequately protected.
Some may argue this approach is an overreach while others might say it's about time. I simply say, better safe than sorry. I'm guessing Paul Pelosi would agree.
