America is being overtaken by people who don't believe in science, facts or expertise; who think qualified, competent civil servants are "the deep state"; who have no knowledge of, or regard for, history; and don't want to engage in analytical rational thought, thinking that by listening to their favorite Q-adjacent MAGA pundit they have "done their research."
What the first commenter said is true, in that DJT said what he was going to do, even if it was buried in an avalanche of lies, 'alternative facts' and straight-up gibberish. But enough Americans were unwilling to parse his words - or take him seriously - that they took the bait and believed that Donald was their savior. While the media slept at the wheel.
Enough other voters rejected Kamala because she (multiple choice): (a) was too wonky or not wonky enough; (b) was too much or not enough more-of-the-same; (c) too radical or not radical enough; (d) was Black, female and had a too-loud laugh; (e) anything else; (f) all of the above, that they stayed home, too immature or ignorant to understand the stakes.
But now they all - stay-at-homes & MAGAts alike - are about to find out. As are the rest of us. But we already know what's ahead. We've read Yuval Harari & Jill Lepore & Paul Krugman and the rest. Let's hope the rest of America wakes up and helps us turn this tide in time.
I am a Trump supporter, but don't want him to run again. Just want him to do what he said he was going to do, and he probably can't do it all...but no President has been able to fulfill all promises. Whether you agree with him or not, he is getting things done. He NEVER sleeps! To those who are "Shocked" at what is going on...he told you up front and 77 million agreed with his vision! As Obama once said, "Elections have consequences!" He is going to try to change the American way of life...AMERICA FIRST...what a concept. To those who call him dangerous...what scares you? Closed borders? Sending criminals back? Creating tariffs unless you bring your products to be made in America? Make trade fair again, instead of a 200 Billion deficit each year with Canada for products we don't need? Making NATO pay their fair share? Reducing waste in government? Holding people and departments accountable? Going back to work? Cutting government RED TAPE? Keeping biological MEN from playing in biological female sports? Ending DEI, and base it on merit? Come on people...what is so scary about commonsense things? YES...he is different...but he IS A WORLD LEADER, and the 4 years he was out of office gave him time to evaluate what he did wrong the first time. He now is coming prepared, with HIS people, to do what he said up front he was going to do! Get on board, or come up with a better plan that can get you elected. America spoke....even big BLUE states voted in higher numbers for him. You from the far left have to get your heads out of the sand, in my opinion! Enough is enough. I am not a Republican, or Democrat...I am a commonsense American who can't believe how stupid our country had become. SO...in my opinion, we needed a drastic change, or else we were going to go broke. Give this man a chance...but give him your ideas too. HE IS NOT a conservative, or liberal...he is a PRAGMATIC businessman, and I truly believe we need the titan's of business to come in and clean up a very sick and massive Government....These are just my views and opinions....and thanks to this election, I feel free to express them. It is tragic but we must not give up. There are many who are shocked about what is going on.
We just need to fight the good fight!
I'd love to say " they can't" but this supreme court... it shouldn't be in the realm of possibility but I feel like it is.
