In my opinion, it is a cancer that attacks the brain and heart of die-hard Donald Trump supporters. To date, it is somewhat confined to the halls of Congress and a handful of states; but, because there is no antidote, REPOVID is quickly spreading to every corner of the country.
How do you know if a loved one or neighbor has it? One clue is their adherence to conspiracy-talk. If a family member or colleague repeats phrases like "take back our country" or "stop the steal," then he or she probably is showing early signs of REPOVID disease.
Another clue is the discredited web sites your relatives or Facebook friends cite as harbingers of truth. If people you know believe Joe Biden is an illegitimate president or that QAnon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia is a true patriot, then they probably need to be hospitalized.
Lastly, if anyone claims the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 were the equivalent of college students conducting an old-fashioned panty raid, then they most likely need be administered their last rites.
Make no mistake about it, REPOVID-21 is antithetical to our way of life. If left unchecked, it will destroy families, friendships and democracy.
The only question that remains is this: Will Americans of all ages, colors and stripes help stop REPOVID-21 from spreading?
