So Donald Trump thinks it is "very disrespectful" Joe Biden is skipping the coronation of George 3.0 this weekend. Never mind Biden attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth last September or that the president called the future king last week.
And not for nuthin' -- as the saying goes -- I guess DT forgot Ike did not attend young Elizabeth's coronation back in 1952, or that, to the best of my recollection, Charles passed on attending the Trump and Biden inaugurations.
I don't believe for a second the twice impeached former president, who faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels, currently is standing trial for rape, or is under investigation for election tampering, hoarding classified documents, and inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol, gives a damn about who goes to Saturday's coronation. All he really cares about is grabbing headlines.
It's hard for me to understand how or why Trump remains so popular. Sadly, I guess columnist Nicholas Goldberg is right. Here's what he wrote in today's L.A. Times: "It's a stunning and depressing display of the lowering of national expectations, a remarkable nadir we've reached, that a candidate accused of multiple criminal acts is a perfectly credible contender for the presidency."
It's as if people are saying so what ... who cares. You know who cares? I do. For what it's worth, I think Donald Trump is truly the disrespectful one, not Joe Biden. What says you?
