The term "clown car" used to describe circus entertainers packing themselves into crazy little cars to the delight of kids of all ages. Today, the term is one way of describing politicians packed into an unintentionally silly event.
What Governors Abbott of Texas and DeSantis of Florida are doing -- busing or flying unwanted immigrants to Washington, D.C. or Martha's Vineyard -- is no silly event. As far as I am concerned, it's a circus alright; but, nothing they are doing is funny.
Reaction to what the governors have done range from "publicity stunt" to "human trafficking" to "long overdue." My question is will other governors start doing the same thing? Will they jump on board this present-day clown car? My hope is no, but I'm guessing they will.
To be sure, some political events are silly. Remember when Mitt Romney's friend, Clint Eastwood, stood next to an empty chair in 2012? It was the actor's way of helping the audience visualize Barack Obama as "an empty suit." As funny as that was in the moment, it hardly compares to what's happening now.
Today's buses and planes loaded with immigrants are the clown cars of yesteryear. To many, they're followed by tears. To others, laughter. Which side of history will you be on?

Dr Santos should be arrested as a trafficker. He is hideous.
Jokers to the left of me, Clowns on my right. Guess I’m stuck in middle left with you. 🤷♂️
