Yesterday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi led a moment of silence on the House floor marking the first anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. With the exception of Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming), no other Republican member of Congress participated in the ceremony. *
Chief among those missing were 9 members of the House who voted with Cheney to impeach then-President Donald Trump for his involvement in the Jan. 6 insurrection. If this doesn't tell you everything you need to know about the principles of today's Grand Old Party, then I don't know what will.
The rioters who fought and injured as many as 140 police officers had one, truly un-American, goal in mind: To stop the peaceful transition of power. Shame on every Republican member of Congress who has turned a blind eye to what happened in Washington a year ago. For the good of the nation, I wish every one of them had joined Cheney and participated in the Speaker’s moment of silence.

* Liz Cheney’s father, a former GOP member of Congress and Vice President, was at her side.
Seems to me that if those Republicans thought what happened on that day in 2021 was a typical tourist day, they should stand up and admit it, as opposed to hiding behind the courts. No, they are definitely COWARDS. Shameful cowards. Being paid by a government that they tried to overthrow.
