Ex-Trump attorney, Jenna Ellis, was censured by a disciplinary judge in Colorado Wednesday. In addition, she was fined $224 for her role in helping to spread the former president's Big Lie about the 2020 election results.
According to Colorado's Office of Attorney Regulations, Ellis admitted knowing several comments she made on TV about the election being "stolen" were false, and that she violated professional ethics rules barring intentional misrepresentations of facts by lawyers.
My reaction to the censure and fine in Colorado is this: First, there is a line attorneys cannot cross, even when it comes to political speech; and second, pity the fine wasn't more like $50,224. I doubt the paltry amount Ellis paid will have an impact on any attorney's behavior going forward.

$224, well that is worth the many minutes of getting her name out there on television and newspapers. Cheaper than hiring a PR firm.
