Sadly, the murder of six Asian women in Atlanta on Tuesday is an all-too familiar story. But because President Biden flew to Georgia as quickly as he did, I am hopeful this kind of premeditated, gruesome act never will happen again.
In an effort to demonstrate my support for the local Asian community in Laguna, I am pledging to buy more dinners from Thai Bros near the library. I hope my friends will do the same thing at Laguna Sushi downtown or Mandarin King in North Laguna, for example.
I realize some people will scoff at my suggestion; but, remember this: Every dollar spent in these and other Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese or Thai restaurants will send a message to their owners (that) we support them in these difficult times.
The killing of six Asian women in Georgia is a familiar American tragedy. No matter where you live, I hope you will stand with me against hate.
