It's time the Orange County Register editorial board and several of the newspaper's columnists stop bashing Gov. Gavin Newsom. If readers believe half of what's been written, then they probably think The Golden State is about to crumble. Interestingly, nothing could be further from the truth.
According to a late October Bloomberg report, California is poised to overtake Germany as the 4th largest economy in the world. Repeat: In. The. World.
Here's how the governor responded to the news: “Critics often say California’s best days are behind us, but reality proves otherwise. Our economic growth and job gains continue to fuel the nation’s economy.”
Newsom also said this: “California’s values and entrepreneurial spirit have powered this ascent to becoming the fourth biggest economy in the world, and we’ll continue doubling down on industries of the future, like renewables and clean energy. I feel tremendous pride in California’s resilience, leadership, and our formula for success.”
Is everything perfect here? Of course not. The Register has an obligation to report the news. It's time the paper’s editorial board and columnists write more balanced pieces about Newsom and California's economy.

Agree. I'm tired of this bashing and also when Dems bash Biden. We need to support our best people.
I agree. I am not a huge fan of Newsom, but our state does lead the country. And, I love his "freedom state" ads! The Register is never going to change. Geez, they endorsed crooks and creeps as usual - Michelle Steel and Scott Baugh.
