Rank and file members of Congress make $174,000 a year. On top of that, their Capitol Hill and district staffs and travel expenses to and from their home states are paid for from separate accounts. If you do the math, these members get paid $14,500 a month or $483 per day on an annual basis, regardless if they are in session or not. Compared to a full time construction worker or in-home health care provider making $10 to $12 an hour, is it really OK to pay elected officials $60 an hour for part time work?

I think they should get minimum wage for ever hour they work. Bonus at the end of the year if they have actually gotten legislation passed that actually contributed to the common good.
I don't think they should be paid at all. For any of there "so called was work".
