Do the people calling for Joe Biden's resignation really believe the deaths of 13 Americans Thursday in Afghanistan is grounds for him resigning?
If they do, then why didn't George W. Bush resign the day after 9/11 when 2,977 died, or FDR immediately after Pearl Harbor when 2,403 were killed, Ronald Reagan following the truck bombs in Beiruit that killed 241 Americans, or Bill Clinton the day after the Oklahoma City bombing when 167 were murdered.
Make no mistake about it, presidents must be held accountable -- especially when terrible things happen on their watch. In my opinion, the best way to honor the U.S. troops who died yesterday is to investigate why it happened and how to insure it never happens again.
If you ask me, the idea that Joe Biden should resign following what happened Thursday at or near the Kabul airport is absurd.
