Should COVID shots be mandatory?
It’s a question often being asked these days. Don't get me wrong, I believe the shots are effective and necessary; but, we never have made flu shots mandatory, so how can we make COVID shots mandatory? Hell, we couldn't even make wearing a mask mandatory.
If we truly need 300 million people to be inoculated, then we are going to need to incentivize millions who are reluctant at best or afraid at worst. How? By offering them a tax break. Next year, everyone who proves he or she is vaccinated should receive a $500 tax credit.
If tens of millions of Americans aren't willing to get a COVID shot for the good of the country, then maybe they'd be willing to do it for the good of their pocketbook. I'm not a doctor, but this sounds like good medicine to me.
