Political fundraising via vaccines and the Star of David

On Friday, the Oklahoma Republican Party began raising funds through a Facebook post that, according to The Hill, “appeared to compare being unvaccianted to being a Jew in Nazi Germany.”

In a photo posted on the party's official Facebook page a yellow Star of David like the ones Jews were forced to wear to identify themselves is shown with the word "Unvaccianted" superimposed on top of it.

"Limited access to travel within their State, Province or Territory. The bearer may not fly, cannot enter a pub, restaurant, club or theatre. Has limited access to either work, buy and sell goods or have access to services and healthcare," the post read. "Wake up people — is this sounding familiar?"

Give me break. Self-styled patriots who invoke individual liberty and scream about government tyranny — because they believe it is unAmerican to wear a mask — don’t give a damn about my health or yours.

Yes, wake up people. Republicans everywhere should demand the Oklahoma GOP reverse course on its current plea for funds. It isn’t simply misguided, it is hateful.

Just when you think things couldn’t get worse, they do. In a matter of hours last Friday, the United States Senate blocked the creation of a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, and a hat store owner in Nashville started selling yellow Star of David patches, similar to the ones Nazis forced Jews to wear during the Holocaust, with the words "Not Vaccinated" on them. What is happening to our country?
