Few people knew his full name, but millions world-wide recognized him at a glance.  Together, the man with one name and soccer were as transforming as Chaplin and film, Babe and baseball, Jackie and first ladies, Elvis and rock, Curie and science, Jobs and technology, and Ali and boxing.  Yes, Pele was a true ambassador for the sport he loved, but he was more than that.  Like Tiger, Cher, Dolly and Spielberg today, Pele's artistry made us feel like anything was possible.  When he played, time stood still.  And now it has.  RIP Pele.  Your passion for soccer gave millions of your fans thrills, chills, and hope every time you stepped on the field.
