Now that Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes and 10 of his co-conspirators have been arrested and charged with seditious conspiracy, I have to ask: Did any of them exchange emails, texts, phone calls or have meetings with Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows or members of Congress in the weeks leading up to the insurrection last year?
If they did, it wouldn't prove these Trump insiders actually told the former president what the para-military group was planning to do on Jan. 6; but, it certainly would be important to know. My hope is the House Select Committee investigating the 2021 insurrection eventually will be able to answer my questions soon.
If convicted of sedition, Rhodes and his followers face 20 years in prison. I wonder if this fact, alone, will now compel Bannon, Meadows and lawmakers to re-think their strategies and comply with the subpoenas the Select Committee has issued?
