Three years ago this week, the OC Register published the following letter. I wonder if my prediction will come true this Sunday?

Don’t blame Jared Goff for Rams’ Super Bowl loss

Re “Goff, Cooks, McVay all try to take the blame for Rams’ missed opportunity in Super Bowl” (Feb. 4):

The front page photograph and headline were a bit harsh. Yes, the Rams lost. Yes, it was a boring game. But no, Jared Goff was not the reason.

The entire Rams organization helped their team reach the Super Bowl, just as the entire Rams organization lost the big game. After the sting of the defeat subsides, I am certain the Rams will focus on next year’s season. That said, I expect the outcome of their next Super Bowl appearance will be very different.
