Yesterday, Donald Trump said it would be "very disloyal" if former Cabinet members like Mike Pence, Nikki Haley or Mike Pompeo challenge him for the 2024 presidential nomination. Reading between the lines, I'm guessing Trump believes "democracy be damned" and that the GOP nomination simply is his for the asking.
All I can say is it's too bad the former president doesn't believe in majority rules as much as a third grader running for hall monitor. Worse, neither do all the Republican lawmakers who refuse to challenge Trump about his role in planning the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.
Wake up Republicans. Trump, John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani, Sydney Powell and others met in the Oval Office days before the riot. Why? Because they were trying to figure out ways to prevent the certification of the electoral college vote and, thus, the peaceful transfer of power. Last time I looked, that was illegal (or unConstitutional).
If you disagree, I'd like to know why.
