Kudos to Donald Trump

Tells GOP ... Don't cut Social Security or Medicare

Over time, some of my conservative friends have asked me, “Are you ever going to say something nice about Trump?” I guess they never read my letters praising his decision to meet with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un. With this last thought in mind, I hope these same friends find the following of interest.

Gotta give the former president a high-five.  Knowing a robust, intraparty debate is looming about the debt ceiling, Donald Trump has urged congressional Republicans to leave Social Security or Medicare alone.  

Here's what he said in a video message on Friday:  "Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security."

Trump then added, "Do not cut the benefits our seniors worked for and paid for their entire lives.  Save Social Security.  Don't destroy it!" 

I wonder how Speaker McCarthy and the new GOP majority in the House will react?
