Now that four Proud Boys have been convicted of seditious conspiracy (i.e., plotting to keep Donald Trump in power after his 2020 election defeat) there is renewed interest in a song entitled, "Justice for All." In the event you are learning about this for the first time, the song was performed two months ago by defendants jailed and awaiting trial over their roles in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
“Justice for All” is -- get this -- the inmates singing the National Anthem. Recorded over a prison phone line, it includes Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. If that wasn't enough, the song, complete with chants of "USA, USA, USA," was played at a Waco, Texas rally organized by the former president as images of Capitol Hill rioters were prominently displayed behind him on a large screen.
If you ask me, this song is another example of how Trump and his followers repeatedly have said Jan. 6 was an act of patriotic resistance. If you believe that, then I have a thousand new Teslas I'd like to sell you for $1.29 (which is the cost of buying one copy of "Justice for All").
I'm not a music critic, but "Justice for All" is not a hit. In my opinion, it is utter nonsense.
