Like Ronald Reagan did a month before the 1980 presidential election, had candidate Joe Biden said he would nominate a woman to the Supreme Court, no one -- not even Sen. Ted Cruz -- would have said a word. But he didn't. Biden said he would nominate a Black woman.
Given the push back he is getting now from the Texas lawmaker, you would think President Biden was planning a coup or insurrection. I wonder what people would be saying today if 46 was about to nominate an Asian or trans woman to the highest court in the land?
Undoubtedly, there would be objections, but let's get real. Haters hate. They reserve a special place in their "hearts" for Blacks. Yellow or rainbow are colors haters can tolerate, but not black. In a perfect world, everyone would be color blind; but, we don’t live in la la land. Simply put, people aren't perfect.
In order to make a more perfect union, it's time a Black woman takes a seat on the Supreme Court. Sorry, Ted, if this is offensive to you.
