In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, I remember how kind people were to each other. America had been attacked, leaving Americans dazed and confused. Thankfully, we weren’t robbed of our grace and civility.
Today, we are in the throws of another attack, only this time it is a microscopic virus not airplanes crashing into buildings. And how have many people reacted? In a word, they have become mean.
Instead of coming together to fight a common enemy, anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers have turned the COVID crisis into Civil War 2.0. You see signs of it everywhere ... in grocery stores … in schools … in churches ... in the workplace ... and, yes, even in hospitals.
This coming Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11. I'll be posting my reaction to that terrible day later this week. In the meantime, I'm wondering where you were when you heard the news and how you reacted? And, if you’re up for it, why you think people have turned on each other over COVID?
Please share your thoughts with me. Thanks.
