The unofficial results are in: Orange County voters beat back last week's recall election by a margin of 4 points (52 percent opposed to 48 percent in favor). The proverbial GOP home of Richard Nixon, the incubator of the John Birch Society, and Ronald Reagan's favorite place to kick-off his presidential campaigns no longer is bright red.
In the weeks leading up to the recall, I was urging friends to grant me my Sept. 14 birthday wish. Thankfully, they and millions of other Californians, did just that. While I am truly pleased with outcome of the vote, I have two questions for OC Republicans now: How do you like the color bluish purple, sometimes referred to as violet, and are you going to accept the will of the people?

I am not sure the recall is a true indication of blue versus red. I think there are a number of people who don't think California is headed in the right direction, but I am also adamantly opposed the the entire recall process. if someone has done something to warrant removal from office via impeachment then wait our their term and vote in a new candidate.
The governor and the balance of the elected officials need to address housing in general and specifically homelessness, as well as the regulatory environment which is helping companies with their decision to move to other friendlier places.
No...People can be sheeple and don't do much research or know much about politics. All they do is choose candidate by the letter behind their name. I think it is time, like George Washington thought might happen, to end political parties due to extreme tribalism on BOTH sides. There is so much I dislike about the Governor and his policies, but the recall spoke for itself. Once Larry Elder entered the race, he put a face to TRUMPISM that allowed Newson to beat on him...and it worked. Now he has good chance at national office...I will vote against him always!
