Consider the following: First, a high school principal tells parents two months before graduation every member of the senior class has been caught cheating on exams; and second, as a result, all of the students are being expelled.
Do you think the parents would simply say OK, or do you think they would demand an investigation into the allegation and unprecedented expulsion?
Choosing the latter, the school board creates an independent committee to gather the facts and hold public hearings. What the committee ultimately discovers is shocking. Not only were the parents lied to, the principal repeated his story 100 times both in public and private.
Even the principal's closest supporters, like the PTA president and lawyers, knowingly lied to protect the embattled school leader. Several teachers told the independent committee they had been offered promotions if they corroborated the principal's story.
In the end, the school board makes criminal referrals to the local District Attorney. Among them, the principal should be indicted for crimes against the senior class, the principal's friends should be indicted for witness tampering, and several other crimes.
Does any of this sound familiar? It should.
Now that the Jan. 6 House Select Committee has sent criminal referrals to the Dept. of Justice, I wonder how long it will take Donald Trump, Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Michael Flynn and John Eastman to realize country must always top party?
On behalf of a grateful nation, I want to thank the Select Committee for its commitment to seek the truth about what happened in the days leading up to, and following, the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the Capitol. From here on out, it's up to DOJ to decide which of these Big Lie conspirators need to be prosecuted for crimes against the nation.
I wonder if the local DA in the school matter would agree?
