As previously reported, three of my letters were picked up earlier this month. They were published in the Austin American Statesman, New York Times and Washington Post. And just a few days ago, a letter ran in the New York Post. So that was then and this is now.
Today, I have submitted two new letters. Not sure if they will get published, but I wanted to share them with you now. Here they are.
Letter to the Editor:
"At site of Parkland shooting, Harris announces new tool to curb gun violence" March 23
At the same time Vice President Harris was talking about red-flag laws this past weekend in Florida, I wish President Biden was giving the green light for a gun summit at Camp David.
Until and unless representatives from the National Rifle Association, 2nd Amendment proponents, law enforcement officials and families of victims break bread together, I am afraid little can be done to curb mass shootings.
At the urging of First Lady Rosalynn Carter, her husband hosted Egypt's Anwar Sadat and Israel's Menachem Begin at Camp David. After nearly two weeks of intense negotiations, they forged a peace agreement that still is in effect today.
My sincere hope is First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will urge her husband to convene a summit at Camp David -- one that produces a consensus on new gun safety measures that Congress ultimately can pass.

Letter to the Sports Editor:
“Ohtani addresses betting allegations,” March 25
I watched Shohei Ohtani plead his case to the media Monday afternoon. Each time the Dodgers superstar said he did not know his friend and interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, had amassed a $4.5 million gambling debt I couldn't help but think about Richard Nixon telling the press he was not a crook, or Bill Clinton saying he did not have sex with that woman (Monica Lewinsky). I don't gamble, but I bet there's more to the Ohtani story than meets the eye. I sure hope whomever was advising Nixon or Clinton isn't advising Shohei now.

Wondered where you had been. Hope they pick up your letters. Lynn Lorenz
